The Defence Committee are looking into the recent investigations into fatalities involving British service personnel during 'the Troubles'

Purpose of the session

It will look at the background to the investigations by the Legacy Investigation Branch, the UK's legal obligations to investigate allegations made against former service personnel, including the role played by the European Court of Human Rights and the European Convention of Human Rights.
