Accessibility of sports stadia inquiry

Inquiry status: Concluded

Report published.

Scope of the inquiry

Committee report

Despite years of campaigning, many sports fans with disabilities find facilities at sports stadia inadequate or inappropriate for them, even when the grounds have been modernised. These failures extend to Premier League clubs. Detailed best practice guidance exists at both national and European level, but some clubs seem content to do the minimum legally required, without considering whether access is really adequate. The Culture, Media and Sport Committee is holding an inquiry to examine this issue, in relation to the full range of sports.

The Committee is interested in receiving written submissions on the subject, taking into consideration both personal experiences and general views or concerns. This web portal is open for submissions from 23 May 2016.
