Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Committee
The week of 12 September 2016 marks the second anniversary of the Independent Press Standards Organisation (IPSO) and so the Committee decided to take evidence from the IPSO Chairman and Chief Executive to consider its position since IPSO took over from the Press Complaints Commission in 2014 and in light of the Leveson inquiry’s findings.
The Culture, Media and Sport Committee holds a further evidence session on 'Dealing with complaints against the Press' on Tuesday 6 December 2016, following its meeting with IPSO back in September. This session is expected to consider whether there have been improvements in the behaviour of the press since the Leveson inquiry.
