Inquiry status: Government response published. Follow-up in progress.
The Communities and Local Government Committee decided to carry out an inquiry into the operation of the Building Regulations so far as they apply to electrical and gas installation and repairs in dwellings, including houses in multiple occupation. The Committee published its report in March 2012.
The Committee has been following-up on its recommendations and conclusions of this inquiry particularly in relation to the Government's review of Part P (electrical safety) of the Buildings Regulations. It took oral evidence from the Government on 11 February 2013 and from the Electrical Accreditation bodies on 2 September and has received related written evidence and correspondence.
