Business and Industry Minister questioned on electric vehicles

13 June 2018

The Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee questions Business and Industry Minister Richard Harrington on the Government’s approach to supporting the development of the market and infrastructure for electric vehicles.

As well as focusing on the Government’s approach to encouraging the uptake and development of electric vehicles, the session is likely to cover the newly announced target for all new cars and vans to be effectively zero emission by 2040 and the Road to Zero strategy.

The Committee has previously questioned motor manufacturers and industry bodies, as well as local authorities and those with an interest in motorists’ needs, charging infrastructure and the electricity grid. MPs are likely to want to raise some of the previously heard evidence with the Minister.
