MP debate the conflict in Yemen

On Tuesday 28 March MPs debated and approved a motion on the conflict in Yemen in the House of Commons.

Keith Vaz, Mrs Flick Drummond & Alison Thewliss led and opened the debate.

Motion debated and approved:

"That this House notes the worsening humanitarian crisis in Yemen; and calls upon the Government to take a lead in passing a resolution at the UN Security Council that would give effect to an immediate ceasefire in Yemen."

Backbench Business Committee

The Backbench Business Committee meets weekly on Tuesdays to consider requests for debates from any backbench Members of Parliament on any subject.

The Committee then has to decide how to allocate the limited Parliamentary time it has at its disposal. The Committee's meetings are always conducted in public and can be watched on Parliament TV.
