Case Study: S.O. Davies and Workplace Compensation
The De Montfort project explored the life and impact of MPs and Peers on both their local area and at Parliament. In this case project participants spent time conducting both independent and group-based archival research at both Glamorgan Archives and the Parliamentary Archives. This enabled them to gain experience in, and build confidence of, working with archive records.
What legislation existed to protect workers in the early and mid 20th century? How did Parliament seek to improve the rights of people working in industries?
Who was S.O Davies? What were his Parliamentary interests? How did he represent Merthyr at Parliament?
