Order of Proceeding for the Duke of Wellington's funeral

This Order of Proceeding sets out the arrangement of the Duke of Wellington's funeral procession, which was one of the great spectacles of the Victorian period.

Sittings in both Houses of Parliament were suspended on the day of the funeral. The Speaker and Lord Chancellor took part in the procession wearing their official robes, and  MPs and Peers had designated positions, as did government ministers, bishops, military leaders, heralds, and many others.
