R.N.M. Bailey

Robert Neale Menteith Bailey was a clerk in the Committee Office of the House of Commons.  He was friends with William Leveson-Gower, a clerk in the House of Lords who also served in the First World War.  Bailey served in Egypt and Palestine, and died of wounds received in action on 1 December 1917.

The papers of R.N.M. Bailey in the Parliamentary Archives chiefly consist of letters between himself and his sister.  The photographs of his grave were sent to the family by a hospital in Cairo.
