Caroline's Creation of a New Order of Chivalry
On the 12 July 1815, on a trip to Jerusalem, Caroline created the chivalric order of Saint Caroline. It is believed to be part of the evidence against Caroline presented to Parliament on 6 June 1820. It was discussed in the Lords on 21 August 1820. There was laughter in the chambers as the attorney general described Pergami, Caroline's alleged lover, as the Grand Master.
