Petition of the Penn Family

Petition of William Penn Esquire, Heir at Law, and of John, Thomas, and Richard Penn Gentlemen, Devisees under the Will of William Penn, deceased, late Patentee of Pensilvania [Pennsylvania] in America, praying, on behalf of the said Province, to be heard, by their Counsel, against the Bill for 'An Act for the better Securing and Encouraging the Trade of His Majesty's Sugar Colonies in America', then before Parliament.

The petition is signed by William Penn (junior).  Similar petitions were received from other North American Provinces and the Bill failed, although another Bill of the same title was passed in 1733.
