David Godbold was commissioned by the Advisory Committee on Works of Art at the House of Commons to record the 2005 election campaign. The commission was based on the premise that Godbold would follow electioneering events on a daily basis around the UK witnessing these to gather influences and to build up a visual record based on his own views and opinions formed during campaigning.
