New series of free talks: 'Big Ben: ticking through time'

A new series of free Thursday morning talks on Big Ben and the Elizabeth Tower will be held monthly.

The fun and informative hour-long presentation, given by members of the Big Ben team, covers the history and workings of this famous clock and iconic tower and will be followed by a short question and answer session.

Times and availability

Confirmed dates for the ‘Big Ben: ticking through time’ talks are

  • 25 January 2018
  • 22 February 2018
  • 29 March 2018
  • 26 April 2018

The talks will commence at 10.30am in the Jubilee Room, just off Westminster Hall. Ticket holders should allow sufficient time to pass through the airport style security, and are welcome to enter from 9.30am.

In addition to attending the talk, visitors can watch debates from the public galleries on days when the Houses are sitting, or take one of the audio or guided tours which run on most weekdays during recesses.

Only tickets for the next talk are available to book.

Places for these talks are limited and the free tickets must be booked in advance, either online or by calling our Bookings Team on +44 (0)20 7219 4114 (lines open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm).

Please be aware that booking is for a talk only. Big Ben and the Elizabeth Tower tours are now suspended due to essential works needed to refurbish and repair the Elizabeth Tower and Great Clock.
