| 12.02.2013 | Regional Growth Fund |
| At the 2012 Autumn Statement, the Chancellor announced a further £310 million for the Regional Growth Fund (RGF), which will be extended into 2015-16. The RGF is now worth over £2.7 billion over the five years from 2011-12 to 2015-16. It is intended to promote the private sector in areas in England most at risk to public sector cuts. | |

| The Government has now approved a total of 39 Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs). These cover all areas of England. | |

| The Government has announced the location of 24 new Enterprise Zones in England. Businesses in these small areas will benefit from tax and planning concessions and superfast broadband. | |

| This Standard Note sets out the changes and closures that have taken place to the machinery of regional government that existed at the General Election of 7 May 2010. The vast majority of the landscape of regional institutions will no longer exist by 1 April 2012, and very many of the related funding streams will also have been closed down. |
