Modernisation Committee

Following the Dissolution of Parliament on 12th April, all select committees have ceased to exist unless or until the House renominates them following the election on 6th May. There are no chairs or members of committees. The information on these pages refers to committees and their work before Parliament was dissolved. If there are committee Reports to which Government Responses are outstanding, these may be responded to in the next Parliament.

The Select Committee on Modernisation of the House of Commons considers how the practices and procedures of the House should be modernised. The Committee was appointed on 13 July 2005.

Formal Minutes by Session

The Minutes of Proceedings of the Committee list only the various formal decisions and other proceedings of a formal nature (such as witnesses heard). They are not a record of all the discussions which may have been held. Other announcements by committees are communicated in other ways, such as during public evidence sessions or in Press Notices, or when a final decision has been made.
