Alcohol consumption in the House of Commons


Information about the amount of alcohol purchased and consumed on the premises of the House of Commons, whether through its bars, restaurants or at events where alcohol is bought in for catered events.


£1.336m of alcoholic drinks was sold in House of Commons venues in the financial year ended 31 March 2011. This takes into account sales to Members of Parliament, staff and others who work in and visit Parliament including guests at banqueting events, but excludes £204k of sales in the souvenir shops which are mainly made by or for members of the public for consumption off the premises.
