Members Estimate Committee

The Members Estimate Committee considers matters relating to MPs’ pay and allowances on behalf of the House of Commons.  It has the same membership as the House of Commons Commission.

• The Members Estimate Committee statement on 21 July 2009 on Legg Review and publication of information about MP's allowances.
  

• The Members Estimate Committee has announced the terms of reference for the review of second home allowance payments from 2004/05 to 2007/08.  See press notice here.
  

• The Members Estimate Committee published a report on 15 January 2009 entitled Revised Green Book and audit of Member' allowances,  to which the following are annexed:

a new version of the 'Green Book', which sets out the rules on Members' allowances;

proposals for a more comprehensive system of audit and assurance relating to Members' allowances.
