Standards and financial interests

The purpose is to provide information on any financial or non-financial benefit received by a MP or Member of the Lords which might reasonably be thought by others to influence their actions, speeches or votes in Parliament or influence their actions taken in their capacity as a Member.

Commissioner for Standards in the House of Lords
The House of Lords Commissioner for Standards is responsible for the independent and impartial investigation of alleged breaches of the House of Lords Code of Conduct, including investigating breaches of the rules on Members’ financial support and parliamentary facilities.

Members' hospitality
Members of the Lords can hold private events at the House of Lords, subject to rules agreed by the House on using the House of Lords refreshment and facilities services for private events.
