Chernobyl (1986) and Fukushima Daiichi (2011) showed that nuclear accidents can occur, even if they are very rare.

Prof. Philip Thomas (City University London) and his multi-university team will present results from the recently completed NREFS research project (Management of Nuclear Risk Issues, Environmental, Financial and Safety), which analysed strategies to mitigate the effects of a large nuclear accident. This event is held in collaboration with the All Party Parliamentary Nuclear Energy Group.
