Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council

The Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council funds bioscience research to tackle challenges such as climate change, a healthier old age, sustainable food production, land use and energy production. Its budget for 2012-13 was around £467m, supporting around 1600 scientists and 2000 research students in universities and institutes across the UK.

The council supports BBSRC funded PhD students to work for three months at POST. There is an opportunity for one or two fellows to work in the House of Commons Library or with a parliamentary select committee.

The BBSRC policy placements are now open for application. For more information about the fellowship and to apply visit the RCUK website. The closing date is 10 August 2017. You can also keep in touch with fellowship opportunities by following us on Twitter.
