POST is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Grant Hill-Cawthorne will be the new Head of POST, set to begin in 2018 (date tbc).
Dr. Hill-Cawthorne is currently Senior Lecturer in Communicable Disease Epidemiology at the Marie Bashir Institute and School of Public Health, University of Sydney. After completing medical training at the University of Cambridge, he set up a laboratory specialising in pathogen genomics in Saudia Arabia. In Sydney he led a research team looking at the use of molecular epidemiology for public health policy. Dr. Hill-Cawthorne also coordinated the communicable disease teaching within the School of Public Health and co-developed the Master of Health Security and Master of Global Health degrees.
After getting a taste of science and health policy as the NHS Medical Director’s Clinical Fellow to the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence in 2011-12, he is excited to be returning to both policy and the UK in this new role.
