From 12-16 July 2010 CPA UK hosted the international parliamentary conference From Global to Local: Climate Change Post-Copenhagen.
Parliamentarians from over 30 countries participated in the conference, including Members from those states most vulnerable to the effects of climate change such as Tuvalu, Bangladesh and the Maldives.
Over the four-day conference delegates debated and discussed extensively with UK parliamentarians and environmental policy experts how best to combat climate change through their legislatures in the absence of a binding international agreement.
Delegates also visited a number of UK eco-projects, including the Thames Barrier and the Greenwich Millennium Village, to gain a practical perspective of projects that can mitigate climate change.
