Typically, the conference period is nine days in length and there is usually an excursion day which is arranged by the host branch. Why isn’t this occurring this year?
Whilst CPC 2011 may seem shorter in length, no aspect of the conference content has been removed; there will still be all the same meetings and conferences that make up the annual conference.
Although there are no organised excursions, other than the accompanying person’s excursion, delegates can extend their stay at their own cost if they wish to explore London.
Previous host branches have arranged air-side pick up at airports. Why has the UK branch decided not to offer this? What is the best route to the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel?
London, as a major tourist city, has numerous airports with fast transport links into Central London. It would be much slower and less efficient for delegates to be collected by coach. Branches can of course make transport arrangements with their High Commission.
The Coming to London pages set out the best routes to the hotel venue.
Am I able to stay at a different hotel other than the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge?
The CPA UK will only provide accommodation at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge hotel. Official transport will only be available via the Park Plaza.
We have poor internet connection, how can we register if not online?
If you cannot register online because of connectivity problems please notify the CPC 2011 team and we will either email or fax the registration documents.
Can my spouse/partner come with me? He/she does not wish to participate in the conference.
Your spouse/partner must pay the £290 participation fee if they wish to receive a conference pass and participate in any of the conference activities including evening events and the Opening Ceremony. However, if your spouse/partner does not wish to participate in any element of the conference you will only need to pay the double occupancy fee (£10/night) directly to the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge hotel. You should not register your spouse/partner if they will not be participating in any of the conference.
The spouses/partner and fees and payments pages set out more information.
I am not an official delegate from my branch but will be in London during the period of the conference, can I attend some of the meetings?
No. For security reasons and because of limited space at the conference venue you must be registered to attend CPC 2011 as an official delegate of your branch. Only those delegates with a conference pass will be permitted access to the conference area and to official events such as the Opening Ceremony.
