CPA UK carries out international programmes on behalf of the UK Parliament and the wider CPA community.

CPA UK is governed by a committee of UK parliamentarians who are elected by their parliamentary colleagues.

CPA UK promotes the advancement of parliamentary democracy by enhancing knowledge and understanding of democratic governance.

History

The CPA was founded in 1911 as the Empire Parliamentary Association and its affairs were administered by the UK Branch. As the Commonwealth modernised, so did the CPA.

BIMR

CPA branches are divided into nine regions, CPA UK is part of the British Isles and Mediterranean Region (BIMR) and serves as its Secretariat.
