Parliamentary Information and Communications Technology (PICT) supports Parliament by embracing new and innovative technologies and providing a secure and efficient network and desktop environment for MPs, Lords and Parliament staff.
It became Parliament’s first Joint Department of the House of Commons and the House of Lords on 1 April 2008.
The work in the department includes service desk and engineering support, telecommunications, server and network management, applications development and support, programme and project management and also more general HR, finance and support services.
The aim of the new department is to reach “a world class standard in the provision, support and exploitation of ICT”.
