
The Committee is carrying out an inquiry into EU policy on protecting Europe from largescale cyber-attacks.
The European Commission has recently highlighted many concerns about the adequacy of protection and responsive infrastructure regarding cyber-attacks. The Committee want to look into the recommendations made by the Commission to see if they are either realistic or appropriate given current international standards and systems (Press Notice)
A Call for Evidence was issued on 16 October 2009. The Committee has now finished taking oral evidence, and there will be no further public meetings on this inquiry.
The Committee has published its report on Friday 4 December. This report considers two recent Commission proposals for changes in the Common European Asylum System. The report was debated on 12 January 2010
The Stockholm Programme: home affairs published 9 November 2009

The Committee has just carried out a short inquiry on the Stockholm Programme (home affairs aspects of proposed 5-year programme on justice and home affairs). A one-off evidence session was held on Wednesday 14 October when evidence was heard from Phil Woolas, Home Office Minister.
The Committee calls on the UK Government to investigate how piracy and laundering the proceeds of crime contribute to the financing of terrorism in their report published Wednesday, 22 July 2009 (19th report of 2008/09, HL Paper 132 Vol I & Vol II.
