Parliamentary Outreach spreads awareness of the work, processes and relevance of the institution of Parliament, encouraging greater engagement between the public and the House of Commons and House of Lords.
The work of Parliamentary Outreach includes:
Delivering training sessions explaining the work of Parliament, such as the 'Parliament: it's about you!' programme
Developing projects with local networks to demonstrate Parliament's historical relevance to their area, such as the 'Breaking Barriers' exhibition
Helping Select Committees arrange regional visits, such as the Culture, Media and Sport Committee's public meeting on the future for local and regional media
The Parliamentary Outreach service works in partnership with a diverse range of organisations, from local community groups and adult citizenship classes to national campaign networks and NGOs.
