North East outreach

The Parliamentary Outreach service also promotes engagement with the processes of Parliament, demonstrating how the public can get involved at a local and national level.

Working with Parliamentary Outreach

In partnership with organisations such as Skillshare North East, Federation of Small Businesses, Voluntary Organisations' Network North East and Barnardo's, Parliamentary Outreach in the North East organises and participates in free training sessions, events and exhibitions.

  A workshop for Sexpression UK on working with Parliament
• Newcastle - 30 January, 27 February, 17 April, 26 April
  Workshops on Parliament’s work for About Turn CIC
• Sunderland - 1 March
  Workshop on select committees for members of the North East Scrutiny Network – Members and Scrutiny and Overview officers from local authorities around the North East
• Morpeth - 15 March
  Young people’s question time event, with local MPs and councillors. In partnership with Northumberland County Council
• Newcastle - 17 April 
  Workshop for members of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (North East)
• Thornaby - 25 April 
  Workshop for members of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (North East)
• Durham - 25 April
  Workshop on working with Parliament for Centre for Evaluation and Monitoring, University of Durham
• Middlesbrough- 17 May
  As part of Mental Health Awareness Week 2013, Parliament’s Outreach Service and Mental Health North East hosted an event on working with Parliament around mental health issues
• Chester le Street - 20 and 21 May
  Two workshops with Skillshare North East and Cestria Community Housing Association on working with Parliament
