Arts in Parliament

REPRESENT is a unique poem for 2012, created using the words of people from across the UK, to be shown as short film in Westminster Hall.

The poem, curated by spoken word artist Inua Ellams, is inspired by contributions from people across the UK about what representation means to them in 2012.

REPRESENT has invited people from around the country to be seen and heard, by asking for creative submissions on the themes of representation. Inua Ellams, a spoken word artist will give a creative look at the UK by creating a film made up of the submissions and his own work that will be shown in Parliament in Summer 2012 as well as available to watch online.

As part of the project, young people have also had the opportunity to work with leading spoken word artists and performance poets to develop writing and performance skills and to respond creatively to the themes of democratic engagement, identity and political representation.

Wednesday 1 August to Monday 6 August

This film screening is free and open to all.
