Discover Parliament sessions

This annual programme, tailored for post-16 courses, runs at the start of the academic year.

If you'd like to book on to Discover Parliament, please complete and return an application for your chosen session below.

Places will be offered through a random ballot of all applicants.

Priority, however, will be given to schools and organisations that haven't taken part in Discover Parliament in the last three years.

The application deadline is 1 July.

Each school or organisation may apply only once for each experience. A maximum of 120 places across the entire Discover Parliament programme will be allocated to any one organisation.

We'll telephone successful applicants during the week of 2 July to offer them a place on the programme. Please provide a suitable contact number.

If your application is unsuccessful, we'll contact you the week of 9 July and let you know where you sit on the waiting list in case of cancellations.

Political Speed Dating

Political Speed Dating is an opportunity for KS5 students to meet and question key political figures.

Dates: 10 May

80 places are available for each session.

Select Committee Experience

The Select Committee Experience enables key stage 5 students to explore the role of select committees in the setting of the Grand Committee Room.

Dates: Fridays, from spring 2012

Places are limited to 60 per session.

Student Parliament programme

Student debates take place in the grand setting of a parliamentary committee room, using either House of Lords or House of Commons rules and conventions.
