This resource includes a quick quiz about lawmaking and an interactive diagram showing the steps in the passage of a bill. Three levels of difficulty allow you to tailor the activity to suit your students.

This resource supports political literacy components of the curriculum in subjects such as Citizenship. It also supports A Level Politics and Government and A Level Law.
Students will learn to:
- Describe the steps in the legislative process
- Understand the different roles of the House of Commons, House of Lords and the monarch when passing new legislation, and the part played by committees of each House
- Define key terms associated with the legislative process, including bills, laws, divisions, first, second and third readings, committees, amendments and 'ping pong'
