About the Training
Our free service complements a wide range of subject courses across the UK, enhancing and enriching trainees’ experiences.
The team offers courses for:
- All primary trainees who are required to teach Active Citizenship across the curriculum
- Secondary trainees of Citizenship, PSHE and Law courses
- Secondary trainees of other cross curricular subjects including Humanities, English and any area where knowledge of Parliament and lawmaking links to your teaching.
All of our courses are free of charge.
Held at the Houses of Parliament in October, this dedicated PGCE event is an ideal opportunity for trainees to expand their political knowledge in the heart of Parliament.
The 2017/18 PGCE Seminar Day takes place on 24 October 2017.
Various seminars are held throughout the academic year, ranging from general introductory days to specialist themed events.
As a graduate of Teachers' Institute, you'll be invited to become a Teacher Ambassador for Parliament's Education Service. Using free resources provided during the programme, you'll be able to help develop your students' and colleagues' understanding of Parliament and democracy, and benefit from continuing partnership with Parliament's Education Service.
The Education Outreach team are happy to arrange training dates to be held in your institutions for groups of trainees across subject fields. Training is tailored to your needs and we will travel anywhere across the UK to deliver sessions. Contact [email protected] to find out more and request a visit.
