Members of the UK Youth Parliament (MYPs) shared their views about work experience and job opportunities for young people, when they met in the House of Commons on October 29.

This issue was one of five chosen by thousands of young people across the country. They wanted their parliament to discuss whether the UK government is doing enough to create jobs for the young.

At the end of the debate, participants voted on the question: "Should the school leaving age be raised to 18 immediately in order to lower youth unemployment?". 56 MYPs were in favour of this proposal and 271 were against it.
