The UK Youth Parliament debated the cost of higher education in the House of Commons chamber on 29 October.

They discussed proposed rises in tuition fees and whether there are enough university places available at the moment. This issue was chosen as one of five that are most important to young people, by voters under the age of nineteen nationwide.

At the end of the debate, Members of the UK Youth Parliament (MYPs) voted on the question: "Should tuition fees rise?". 57 MYPs were in favour and 267 were against.
