Is public transport too expensive for young people? Should government make it more affordable? And how old should you have to be before you pay the full adult fare? The UK Youth Parliament discussed these issues in the House of Commons on 29 October.

The issue of transport subsidies was selected as one of five key issues by young people across the country. Members of the Youth Parliament discussed their concerns and then voted on the question: "Should reduced transport fares for young people be protected from spending cuts?". 239 MYPs voted to protect subsidies while 80 disagreed.
