Manifesto: An artist-led learning project

  • Welcome to Parliament!

Kingsdale's students searched Westminster Palace for artistic inspiration.

  • Sketching Westminster Hall

The imagery, design and symbols of Parliament go back centuries.

  • Tony Benn (copyright Andrew Tift)

The retired MP's painting inspired students to include their own belongings.

  • My favourite things

Students used belongings with personal meaning. Bushra's partial to Miley.

  • Historic inspiration

Palace wallpaper, based on the 19th century designs of Augustus Pugin.

  • The art of screen printing

Artist Tajendar Sagoo helped students in the print studio.

  • It worked!

Designs were printed onto bags, t-shirts and badges.

  • Job done

    Josh's slogan is 'There's no 'I' in a team'.

  • Richard's manifesto

'If you can believe, you can achieve.'

About Manifesto

Year 9 students from Kingsdale Foundation School explored politics and democracy through the media of textile arts.

They brought their own personal manifestos to life through screen printing.
