Parliament's Education Outreach team can inspire and engage your students in their political literacy lessons by running workshops in schools around the county.

About the Assembly

 

This fun, interactive Your Voice: Debating workshop will be delivered to your school by one of our Regional Outreach Officers. This workshop is generally 45 minutes in length, but this can be flexible subject to your requirements. This workshop is available for pupils aged 7 - 18 and can be tailored for large or small groups.

 

Content Covered

 

For all Ages

  • Explore how MPs and Lords debate
  • Learn new debating skills
  • Consider the strengths and weakness of an idea and debate it

 

For ages 11 - 16

  • Consider how to structure a debate effectively
  • Debate a topical issue

 

For ages 16 - 18

  • Critique the value of debating as a form of scrutiny
