Follow comedian Jay Foreman as he uncovers the general election process and asks why it is important for young people to get involved. This video is aimed at key stages 4 and 5.

Jay Foreman takes us on a journey from the earliest stages of the election campaign through to the formation of the government, in a fun and accessible manner. Along the way, he looks at the role of political parties, opportunities to make them aware of your point of view, and how your vote could have an impact on the outcome of the election.

He also looks inside the Houses of Parliament to find out the difference between Parliament and government, the role of committees in scrutinising legislation, and the responsibilities of the House of Commons, House of Lords and the monarch.

Watch the video to dip into all of these issues in just over twenty minutes and, above all, discover why a comedian like Jay Foreman finds the general election so exciting!
