90 years of women in politics
These photographs were taken to mark the 90th anniversary of the 1918 Representation of the People Act. The Act gave all women over 30 in the UK the right to vote.
The four photos show 104 of the 125 female MPs sitting in Parliament at the time of the anniversary in 2008.
The photos were taken outside the Palace of Westminster in New Palace Yard by Kieran Doherty.
They were acquired by the House of Commons Art Committee as a lasting record of the occasion.
