About the Awards Scheme

Speaker's School Council Awards web badgeEach year, we want to hear about projects that made a difference in your school or community, whatever their size. What's important isn't how big your project was, but that your school council's efforts led to a positive change.

The scheme is open to every infant, primary and secondary school in the UK. A winning school council in each of four age categories receives an award:

  • Infant age (4-7)
  • Junior age (7-11)
  • Secondary age (11-16)
  • Young adults (16-19)

Additionally, every school council that enters receives a prestigious certificate from the Speaker of the House of Commons. And there are a range of prizes and certificates for the runners up and winners.
