FIRST DEAF YACHTSMAN TO CIRCUMNAVIGATE THE GLOBE

That this House congratulates Gerry Hughes on becoming the world's first deaf yachtsman to sail single-handed around the world, passing all five Southern great capes after eight months; notes that this is a sailing challenge which only 300 people have completed, involving over 32,000 miles; wishes Mr Hughes every success in his next challenge, whatever that might be; and particularly recognises the inspiration he has provided to deaf people around Scotland and the UK.
