CLOSURE OF LINAMAR PLANT NEAR SWANSEA

That this House condemns the closure of the Linamar car components plant at Fabian Way near Swansea; recognises with regret that there will be a loss of 200 valuable jobs; deplores the fact that the work will be transferred to sites overseas; calls on the Secretary of State for Wales to intervene with the Linamar Corporation and seek itsre-consideration of itsdecision; congratulates the Unite union on its continuous compaigning over a long period to secure the plant and its jobs; and finally pledges support for this ongoing campaign.
