ETHICS OF LAW FIRMS

That this House is disturbed by evidence that legal firms in the UK are increasingly combining their legal services with a lobbying function;notes that this practice in the US has compromised legal standards; is concerned that the proposed register of lobbyists would not cover such law firms and their lobbying activities; and calls on the Government to act to discourage this trend in the UK, in partnership with the Law Society and other professional associations.
