30th ANNIVERSARY OF PASSAGE OF MOTION OF NO CONFIDENCE IN HER MAJESTY'S GOVERNMENT

That this House notes that 28 March 2009 marks the 30th anniversary of the motion of no confidence in Her Majesty's Government moved by Margaret Thatcher; recalls that the passage of this motion by 311 votes to 310 directly led to the election of Britain's first woman Prime Minister; and reaffirms its belief that the need for a Conservative government is as strong now as it was in 1979.
