That this House expresses concern at the level of provision of palliative care in the UK; notes that although surveys suggest most people would rather die at home, only 18 per cent. are able to do so; further notes that research into palliative care in the UK has found gaps in service provision and access to services; recognises the work of charities including the Red Cross, Age Concern and Marie Curie in providing help and comfort at the end of life; and calls on the Government to increase funding for palliative care.
