TURKEY AND THE EU

That this House recognises that two decades of discussions and negotiations between the European Union and Turkey has produced far too little improvement in Turkey's unacceptable human rights record; and urges the UK Government now to seek to persuade the EU to abandon completely all accession talks with Turkey, on the basis that Turkey will not in the foreseeable future be fit to be a member of the EU.
