CITY AND ISLINGTON COLLEGE STUDENTS' SUCCESS

That this House congratulates Abdul Aziz Turay and Robel Kahsay on their recent awards for outstanding achievements in their studies at City and Islington College; further notes the welcome support to the students given by the Highbury and Islington Express; further notes that Abdul Turay, aged 19 years, fled his native Liberia, where he had been forced to serve as a child soldier; notes that Robel Kahsay, aged 18 years, was detained and tortured by the authorities in Ethiopia because of his father's political activities; and calls on the Home Office to ensure that both students' asylum applications are dealt with swiftly and sympathetically.
