BEATING BOWEL CANCER

  • Session: 2004-05
  • Date tabled: 10.01.2005
  • Primary sponsor: Stoate, Howard
  • Sponsors:

That this House notes that around 35,600 people are diagnosed with bowel cancer each year; further notes that it is the second biggest cancer killer and yet 90 per cent. of cases are curable, recognises that early detection can save lives and therefore welcomes the recent announcement of a national bowel cancer screening programme; calls on the Government to support the Cancer Plan by ensuring that treatments are available to everyone regardless of a person's ability to pay or where they live; supports Beating Bowel Cancer's 6th Loud Tie Campaign and wishes the charity every success; and urges all honourable Members to help raise awareness of bowel cancer by wearing a loud tie or scarf.
