ADVERTISING IN THE ANTI-EURO CAMPAIGN

  • Session: 2001-02
  • Date tabled: 02.07.2002
  • Primary sponsor: David, Wayne
  • Sponsors:

That this House expresses its concern about the recently launched cinema advertising campaign of the 'Europe yes, Euro no campaign'; acknowledges that there are genuine and strongly held views for and against the single European currency but considers it offensive and inappropriate that the anti-euro campaign is using Nazi imagery in an attempt to denigrate the euro; and calls on the 'no' campaign to withdraw the cinema advert immediately.
