    At end add '; and further notes that it makes no sense for the four different second generation mobile companies to seek four separate, different planning requests in each and every constituency; notes, moreover, that this will be further compounded by the five new third generation owners who will need new sites as well; and calls on the Department for Trade and Industry and the Department for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, in the spirit of joined-up government, to issue new planning guidelines that ensure no masts are built within 100 metres of the nearest house.'.

    That this House acknowledges the increasing usage of mobile phones, the increased demand for quality provision and popular concerns at possible health implications; and calls on the Government to ensure that local residents are involved in planning decisions concerning the siting of masts and that councils have the right to decide each application within appropriate planning guidance and to review the National Radiological Protection Board guidelines on this subject to reflect international practice.
